Los Lobos Bronx Concert reviews
Danzig still rocks, Club Nokia's sound doesn't
Los Lobos performance was great, with the groups levels being off. Glenn dissed them on this point for the first 3-4 songs and while that show rocked 100%, it was a much bigger venue. Getting to see Los Lobos up close and personal in a more intimate venue like Club Nokia was great. Within just a few songs, Glenn can still totally rock it, belting out his trademark, gravely bellows. Other than their levels being off, the venue's lack of great sound didn't completely compensate for this. Obviously he cares and respects his fans for their allegiance and takes every opportunity to make that known while kicking ass like a true rock star should. Last time I saw Los Lobos was as 2nd opener (along with Suicidal Tendencies) on Metallica's "Shit Hits the Sheds" tour in '94 at the old Mann Music Center in Devon, PA.Levels seemed off for most of the show and for his age, he was drenched in sweat and parading and posing on the stage with his (also) trademark stances, gripping the mic consistently for the audience's participation.
